Petit Ballet
Offered as 8 week sessional. Introductory class for children ages 18 months - 3 years (optional parent participation)
Each class is 30 minutes in length
There are 8 classes per term, cost is $120
Sign-up is valid for a singular term of classes.
There is no uniform for Petit Ballet, however, we encourage the participants to wear comfortable clothing that allows for non-restricted movement.

Pre-Primary
Introductory ballet class for ages 3-4.5
Students will learn various ways to move their bodies through space reflecting tempo and feeling, develop their creativity through movement and play, in addition to learning rudimentary ballet vocabulary

SCBVM Primary
The first level in the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Best suited for age 4-5.
Primary integrates the young dancer into the framework of a traditional ballet lesson. During classes, Students will be learning their first formal definitions of the very first steps learned in Classical Ballet. Students will also learn how to use rhythm in their dancing
Each class is 45 minutes in length, enrollment is for 1 class per week

SCBVM Level 1
The second level on the ladder of the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Best suited for ages 6-7.
Movements will be taught “turned-out” for the first time in many instances, and students will also start to incorporate Port de Bras into their combinations. Students may notice an increased amount of repetition in Level 1, as one of the goals is to develop a young dancer’s physical strength.
Each class is 1 hour in length, enrollment is for 1 class per week

SCBVM Level 4
The fifth level on the ladder of the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Designed for students with some previous dance training but can also be a good starting level for older beginners, approximately aged 9-11.
In Level 4 students will add Rudimentary head positions to some of the movements at the Barre. The Centre Practice, in Level 4, shifts its focus to Balance. Lessons in Level 4 also change their framework to align more with a “traditional” Ballet Lesson, by removing the mime, and improvisation portions from the bulk of the Lessons.

SCBVM Level 3
The fourth level on the ladder of the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Designed for ages 7-8.
In Level 3, Adage movements are added as they are more difficult, requiring the students to maintain a higher sense of self-discipline and increased physical strength. Students will start to learn movements involving intricate footwork while travelling and incorporating a rotation of the body.
Each class is 1 hour in length, enrollment is for 1 class per week

SCBVM Level 2
The third level on the ladder of the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Designed for ages 6-7.
In Level 2 student will commencing to learn movements that are done derriere. The focus of Level 2 is on development of the Centre Practice portion of the class.
Each class is 1 hour in length, enrollment is for 1 class per week

SCBVM Level 5
The sixth level on the ladder of the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Designed for ballet students with previous ballet training but can also be a good starting level for older beginners, approximately aged 10-13.

SCBVM Level 6
The seventh level on the ladder of the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Designed for Intermediate Ballet Students, approximately aged 12-15.
Level 6 is the first Level to move beyond basic “elementary” movements and, simple combinations and exercises. Students will now be introduced to movements which involve travelling en Arriere and transferring weight onto an extended Derriere (back) leg. During the Variation performed during the Level 6examination, there is a strong emphasis on ensuring that the student’s Artistry and Technical Skill are matched together precisely.
Each class is 1 hour and 30 minutes, enrollment is for 1 class however strongly recommended students attend twice per week at this level to maintain necessary strength

SCBVM Level 7
The eighth level in the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Designed for intermediate ballet students with several years of ballet training.
Each class is 1 hour and 30 minutes, strongly recommended students attend twice per week at this level to maintain necessary strength

Teen Beginner Ballet
This class is designed for students 13-16 with little to no experience in ballet.
Each class is 1 hour and 30 minutes

SCBVM Intermediate
The twelve level in the Society of Classical Ballet - Vaganova Method’s Syllabus. Designed for advanced students with several years of ballet training, approximately aged 14 and over.
Each class is 1 hour and 30 minutes in length.
Students must attend all classes at this level (X3 week) unless a special agreement has been reached with the administration

Mini Jazz
Wednesdays 3:30-4pm, best suited for ages 5-7

There is no uniform for jazz aside from black jazz shoes; however, we ask that students not wear baggy clothing. Hair in a ponytail or bun
Students will be learning coordination skills, various ways to move their bodies through space, develop their self-confidence in what they do, develop sensitivity to music, and gain a sense of freedom and enjoyment through dance, in addition to learning some rudimentary ballet vocabulary.
Junior Jazz
Wednesdays 4-5pm, best suited for ages 6-10

Progressing Ballet Technique (P.B.T.)
Best suited for ages 10+
Progressing Ballet Technique is a body conditioning program that uses specific equipment like exercise balls to enhance dancers' and athletes' core strength, muscle memory, stability, alignment, and turnout. Developed by Marie Walton-Mahon, the method focuses on building body awareness and the strength needed to safely and effectively execute technical dance movements, making it beneficial for injury prevention and improved overall performance in ballet and other sports.
This class will be combined with stretching practices, proprioceptive training and overall body wellness
Intermediate Jazz
Wednesdays 5-6pm, best suited for ages 11+

Teen Contemporary
Mondays 7-8pm
Best suited for ages 11+
Contemporary dance evolved from modern dance and combines techniques from classical ballet, jazz, and modern dances. It uses a wide range of movements, including floor work, improvisation, and the use of gravity. Rather than adhering to strict rules, contemporary dance prioritizes freedom of movement, fluidity, and the exploration of mind-body connection, often conveying abstract ideas or personal narratives through choreography
